This is Culture Shox, a unique opportunity to visit FREE arts, culture and science venues and events for 13 – 19 year-olds in Westminster. All the venues and events in these listings are completely FREE to under 16s, and most are also free to over 16s. Music, art, science, theatre, photography, film, history, literature, media and dance - there’s something for everyone here.
Culture Shox is a Westminster City Council initiative.

Science and Engineering
- FREE fimlmaking workshop.
- Are you 16-25 years old? Do you want to learn the magic of film-making? Do you have a gritty story to tell? Do you want to make a short film or documentary? Make your voice heard Work with industry professionals Start a new journey in your life “Learn On Set” – a FREE filmmaking workshop for young people (16-25), who would have the opportunity to learn the magic of filmmaking from script to screen and make four short films/documentaries on topics of the young people’s choice. The culmination of the project will be a screening event to celebrate the young people’s achievement. Film is a unique art form and this is a great opportunity for young people not only to learn new skills and gain knowledge but also to express their views and make their voice heard. - Free Unique Geology collection!

See some of the rocks, minerals and fossils on display from this collection of over 40,000 geological specimens, collected from all over the world during the last 150 years. One of the highlights is the Johnston-Lewis volcanological collection of rocks, minerals and photographs collected between 1880 and 1912. The collection also contains the internationally important Micropaleontology collection and the UK's only Regional Planetary Image Facility containing NASA images and data.
The data includes photographic prints, negatives, slides, maps, mission information, planetary publications, and CD ROMs. Much of this data and many of the publications are rare and cannot be found anywhere else in this country.
